Christian Novak of the MEPP interviews Rinaldo Ralph “Len” Gallucci about his experiences with the US Army Air Force during World War II. Gallucci entered the USAAF mid-1943 and began training in electrical maintenance of aircraft. His hopes of being a pilot were crushed when he was sent to Washington University for training to be an instructor in electrical maintenance. Listen as he tells tons of interesting stories- some comical, some serious. From his antics during basic training to single-handedly guarding 100 Prisoners of War, these are stories you won’t want to miss. Listen to Mr. Gallucci tell about being in a B-17 bomber that ran off the runway, encountering a potential spy, guard duty on the beach, being court martialed multiple times, and much more in this must-see interview!
